Purchase Order Automation

If you run a business, then you have probably already considered some of the benefits of accounts payable automation – instead of wandering around the building looking for various filing cabinets that may or may not contain the paper work that you are seeking, you could have all your purchase order documentation stored in cyberspace, where you can conveniently access it with the mere click of a button. But there are numerous other reasons for automating as well, which I will discuss below:

For one, you will not need nearly as many workers in that department since the automation will streamline the whole process. Beyond that, though, there are other ways in which automation will save you money. If you accidentally send the wrong invoice, or some other problem of that nature, you can quickly correct the mistake with an automated system. You will never have to worry about late fees again, since your new invoice management software will send invoices immediately, rather than having to wait for a document to make its way through the postal system. It has been estimated that invoice automation can reduce the cost of each invoice processed by up to 60%. That is a lot of money over the course of your business’s lifetime.

•  INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY: Invoice automation will dramatically increase your accounts payable staff’s productivity by eliminating repetitive tasks. No longer will they have to sort through thousands of documents just to find the one they are searching for. Additionally, automation will increase the company’s overall productivity. Speeding up the accounts payable process will eliminate delays that affect the entire staff, such as waiting for the supplier to approve something. There will be fewer delays overall, meaning tasks will be completed much more rapidly.

•  INCREASE ACCURACY: Purchase order automation is highly recommended even if just to ensure the accuracy of your accounting. Imagine you realize there is a problem with one of your suppliers or invoices. Without automation, you could have to sort through hundreds or thousands of documents just to try and verify an invoice.
